HOTELS

Hi Henrik

Hotel Convent de la Missio - again, such a high level of guest service across the board with beautiful rooms and common areas and a great location for everything we wanted to do.   The staff here are delightful - just like Cas Curial, nothing is too much trouble.

Everywhere is spotless. Touch points have been carefully
managed with their brilliant but simple use of personal tongs at breakfast- their AMAZING breakfasts.  They really went above and beyond to cater for Jim who needs to be gluten free.   So impressive and very much appreciated by us.

Our stay at Cas Curial  was faultless despite having a major issue with ants on the first night, all over the walls, coming up out of the sink, all over our bed but upon speaking to Andrew in the morning he dealt with the problem and we had no further infestations.   Again our room was otherwise spotless with lots of useful wardrobe space.  The garden room was spacious with wonderful views all round and also extremely private.

The breakfasts were great as was the delicious dinner we had in one night.   The pool area is stunning and absolutely spotless in the gardens which are very beautifully maintained - possibly by the charming rabbits and cockerels.  ALL of the staff are lovely but notably Jesus and Andrew offering to book restaurants that they had recommended. All of which were superb recommendations.

We particularly enjoyed our time here. One to go back to for sure.

Thank you for speaking to Hotel Valldemossa.  We were transferred to an appropriate room which did have a nice seating area and a view of the surrounding hills and very importantly effective aircon which was basically non-existent in the original room allowing for no sleep the first night. T. Company really wasn’t a great room, certainly NOT a suite in any sense.   I must say however that the bathrooms are very very nice and absolutely spotless with lovely lighting.    One of the restaurant breakfast staff was very and unnecessarily rude - not just to us but also very abrupt to other guests. In fact most of the staff could do with a lesson in general polite people skills.  This was most notable here, again, especially as at both of the other hotels every single member of staff was delightful with a real focus on positive service to their guests.  Ie they value their guests.   This was not the case at Hotel Valldemossa where guests were treated like an inconvenience.    Rafael however was very polite and helpful, pleasant and happy to help out with things to enhance our stay.   Both other hotels had delightful, thoughtful and friendly staff.

The pool and surrounding area at Valldemossa left a bit to be desired, covered in garden debris, including the leaf covered sun beds, shower clogged with pine cones and pool with floating flies, wasps and leaves.   This did not change the whole time we were staying.   Quite a surprise bearing in mind just how spotless the room and bathrooms were.     The landscape and town of Valldemossa are stunning as is the hotel - just a few little  tweaks needed to make it perfection.

All in all we have had a really wonderful holiday and thank you so much for your recommendations and advice at the time of booking.  Your personal knowledge was really invaluable.  As regular travellers we know exactly what we like and don’t like so having access to your local insights at Rural Hotels Mallorca was invaluable.    The booking experience was very easy and straight forward.

Thank you again Henrik. We will certainly recommend you to our family and friends and contact you again next time we come back to Mallorca.

With kind regards

A great hotel near Arta, we love it to stay there.

The a la carte restaurant could be improved. The menu card is in our opinion a bit poor.

Great spa with swimming pool and gym.

Nice rooms

I would recommend this hotel surely. A very good price/quality combination

3.     Fontsanta

Is a fantastic hotel

A little point of attention in our opinion is the poor offer of fresh food at breakfast.

Every day the same. No croissants

But further no complaints.

The gym and spa are good

The staff is very polite.

I surely would recommend this hotel to friends but the price may be too high.

Overall we had a good time on Mallorca, and we would like to thank you in special Henrik for arranging everything in such a good and quick way.

That goes also for the car rental with clickrent.

We are very happy clients of Rural Hotels.

Best regards and I hope that we can come back next year.

Dear Henrik
Thanks for your email. We are still in Mallorca, currently at Mirabo de Valdemossa.
Regarding the Convent de la Missio, that was a great recommendation. Such a lovely, tranquil spot in Palma. Cleanliness, sleep quality, food and service was all excellent and therefore worth the money. You get what you pay for! Daniel the Manager was very helpful and friendly as were all the staff.
Secondly, Son Gener. All we can say is wow, wow, wow! Thank you most sincerely for that recommendation because it is a stunning place which ticked all the boxes which we set out to you. All the guests were like-minded and a very international group but lovely, as that is what we like.  The only fault was that we didn’t stay long enough! Already planning our return and will be in touch!
Thirdly, Mirabo de Valdemossa. This was probably my choice and so I can’t hold you to ransom on this! However, we would not return here. The location is incredible and our room is more than acceptable. The staff, excepting Antonio the manager, are really lovely. The inside of the hotel is beautiful, but…there is a sense that some investment is needed outside in particular. The photographs on the website are not replicated in reality. A lot of concrete and gravel. The sunbeds and sun umbrellas are old and need replacing. The bathrobes and towels are worn and slightly dirty. There is no safe in the room despite the fact that this is what the website states Faint aroma of sewage outside! Antonio not very interested in us as guests. Bill was excited about the wildlife mentioned on the website but Antonio is not interested in helping with this and actually says there isn’t any!! Other guests have said the same. We think that we are suffering from “post Son Gener” syndrome, however several other guests have made detrimental comments. Sad to report, but important that you know.
Anyway, many thanks for all your help. We would love to return to Son Gener, and would love some help with accommodation in Deia too and will be in touch with you. Next time probably in May or late September.
Look forward to your thoughts.

The Convent de la Missio

Again 5 all the way although we did not eat in

They recommended 2 great restaurants to eat in in Palma and we found a fab lunch spot

Again would recommend to friends and return

The Son Grec

5 all the way

Great hotel with an easy walk into Soller which had great restaurants and a lovely old tram to Porto Soller which was pretty. Fun but a bit too commercialized for our taste

Would recommend and return

Thanks for your help

Hi Henrik

We had a great holiday thanks and my apologies for the delay in coming back to you.

It’s a 5 for all of your questions! Even though I never like to say that anywhere is value for money in case the price goes up!

We hadn’t stayed in Palma before and found it to be a great little city with historic sites and so many food and drink options that we will have to go again!

If and when, we will definitely stay at Missio. A wonderful conversion of an ancient building in an exceptionally convenient yet quiet location in the heart of the Old City. We had a spacious and stylish room that was very comfortable and the rooftop pool was a great spot to relax after a long day of sightseeing. We were really pleased that we booked to eat in the Marc Fosh restaurant downstairs providing a marvellous start to our break.

Above all, Missio boast quite exceptional staff who were all on top of their game and could not have been more helpful.

Hi Henrik, We had a fabulous holiday in Mallorca thank you. We will be visiting Mallorca again… The ratings of our hotels are: Convent de la Missio, Palma: 5 for every category. Additional comments – ideal location in a busy centre, high quality rooms, excellent food and amazing sun terrace. Staff were extremely helpful in arranging restaurant bookings, suggesting areas to visit. The Marc Fosh restaurant, a very deserving Michelin star rating, was exceptional with great food at very reasonable prices – we even met Marc personally! Cas Sant, Soller: 5 for every category. Additional comments – perfect location for relaxation but easy access to the town centre. Hotel staff were excellent as was the breakfast – would definitely return. I would definitely recommend both hotels to friends and family – we had a very enjoyable time. Regards,

Hello Henrik, It was wonderful! Convent de la Missio: Again a fabulous hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. We were allowed a late check-out for free too. The bar / lounge area is the only part of the hotel that lacked ambiance. Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 5. Cases de Son Barbassa: We really loved it here. Our room and little terrace was perfect and all of the staff were really pleasant. The only feedback I'd provide is that the bikes to hire aren't well maintained - one needed a new chain and the other had incredibly flat tires. Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 5

Hello Henrik, We had a great holiday, thank you. The 2 hotels were quite different. The Convent de le Missio was a really modern conversion of the old building. All the fittings were first class, brilliant shower, very comfortable bed. Very clean too. The staff were  knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We didn’t use the Simply Foch restaurant other than breakfast. The menu seemed rather pretentious and costly for our taste. The hotel was a good base for exploring the interesting city of Palma. Most things were in walking distance and taxis were not expensive if needed. A car would be a liability. We would recommend the whole experience including the hotel. Can Quatre was totally different. A much cosier, relaxed place in a delightful rural setting surrounded by mountains. You would need a car (we hired one after leaving Palma) unless you went for the walking. Although rural, it is just a short walk into Soller though the walk is not very attractive along town streets. We took the car in once or twice but many of the streets are narrow and confusingly one-way and parking in town is very limited. We liked the whole area and Soller is a good base to explore the coast and mountains, though hundreds of cyclists and tourist coaches made progress along the mountain roads rather tedious at times. Summer must be a nightmare. The service in the hotel was very good and we looked forward to the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast each day. They were very accommodating regarding my dietary requirements. Not ultra-modern like the Convent but well appointed, clean and comfortable. On the whole we preferred it. The staff were fewer but were very helpful and they all seemed to do any job that was needed. We felt very much at home here. Though we feel we probably saw the most spectacular part of the island, if we could find a similar hotel in another area we  would certainly consider going back to explore a different part. Neither hotel was cheap but we thought they were both worth the money.  Thanks again

Hello Henrik, Yes, we had a very good stay at both hotels, thank you. The second hotel, Convent de la Missio: Service- excellent, Food- at Simply Fosh exquisite! Cleanliness- good, Value for money- yes, Sleep quality- very quiet and excellent. This was a first class experience though in a different price range.  The first hotel, Son Sant Jordi: Service- good . Family very helpful and welcoming. Food- we only had breakfast which was OK. Cleanliness- good. Value for money- yes subject to what I say below. Sleep quality- excellent, really quiet. The hotel itself is charming as are the hosts. It was unfortunate that the builders had not finished the new wellness area so that we had to share the garden with them and were unable to use that area. Our tariff included a free dinner which we did not get. We had forgotten and it was not offers. Taking all that into account I think a gesture such as discounting the cost by 40 euros would have been appropriate.  I would be happy to recommend both hotels to friends and will do so. Regards,
